River the Cat needs a home
River came to us after her owner passed away. She was taken to a shelter in UT and she isolated herself in grief and refused to interact with anybody. Her owner had been a friend of the founder of CLCRR and his brother contacted us and asked if she could come to us. Upon her arrival, she immediately bolted from her crate and hid! WIth patience and lots of loving space, River became quite playful, sweet, and talkative! She is not a cuddler, she much prefers her "bubble" is not violated, but with the respect of that space, she grows more and more trusting! River is a joy to have around, she is the cleanest cat we have ever known, her litterbox manners are quite impeccable! River does have a heavy double coat, and she would benefit from frequent grooming once you have established trust with her. Her coat is downy silk though, it is the softest, like chinchilla fur! River is selective in her canine and feline companions, but she will get along if there is room to create some distance during possible conflict. She loves to view the world from above, some sort of high perch is her favorite place to be. She prefers quiet, but does enjoy some action, especially if she can watch it from her perch! She loves sunshine, and would enjoy supervised outdoor access. She is afraid of the outdoors so confined outdoor spaces are safest for her.
